The Pharmacovigilance Committee oversees detection, assessment and reporting of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in the teaching hospital. It supports NMC and national pharmacovigilance programme expectations for a medical college.

Role

• Collect and review ADR reports from clinical departments
• Train students, nurses and doctors on suspected ADR reporting
• Coordinate with the hospital drug and therapeutics processes
• Promote rational, safe prescribing in OPD, IPD and emergency

How to report

Clinicians and students should report suspected ADRs through the hospital pharmacovigilance desk / designated form. Patients and families may raise medicine-related concerns at the treating unit or via complaints & feedback.
