Pharmacology

Pharmacology

The Pharmacology Department at Shrinivas G Medical College & Hospital trains you to prescribe with precision, safety and confidence. From the first week, you’ll operate computer-assisted simulation modules that demonstrate receptor kinetics, dose–response curves and drug-interaction alerts in real time. Classroom theory moves straight into bedside observation as you accompany consultants on ward rounds to see how anticoagulants, insulin analogues and antimicrobials are titrated for individual patients. Our faculty, many of whom hold Pharm-D–cum-MD dual degrees, integrate WHO Essential-Medicine concepts, ensuring your knowledge remains globally relevant while addressing Bihar’s local disease burden.

Beyond mastering pharmacodynamics, you will dive into pharmacovigilance, therapeutic drug monitoring and rational antibiotic stewardship. Students take shifts in our Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) Monitoring Centre—part of India’s PvPI network—filing reports that directly shape national safety signals. Elective postings in our IEC-approved clinical-trial unit expose you to protocol drafting, informed-consent best practices and GCP audits, positioning graduates for postgraduate seats and industry research roles alike.
